Mike Brown brings close to four decades of experience across the waste and resources sector. He spent his first 20 years as an operator, developing, designing, and running a wide range of waste disposal, treatment and recycling facilities. Mike later served as lead advisor to Defra’s £30 million New Technologies Demonstrator Programme, playing a key role in shaping early innovation and evidence building in the UK’s waste management landscape.

In 2007, Mike became co owner and Managing Director of Eunomia, leading its transformation into a globally recognised environmental consultancy. He is now a co founder of Rooted, where he oversees commercial and strategic work for major waste operators, investors, and Local Authorities.

Combining deep technical expertise with commercial insight, Mike specialises in bridging public and private sector interests. He is known for bringing clarity to complex, system wide challenges and for delivering large scale projects with strategic focus, practical understanding, and sector wide perspective.
