Dr James McLeary is currently the Managing Director of Biffa Polymers, the largest recycler of plastic in the UK. James obtained his doctorate in Polymer Chemistry in 2004 and has spent his career in polymer related industries. James has worked across EMEA for BASF and INEOS, and in roles from Research & Development, Marketing, Strategy and Sales before running businesses engaged in virgin polymer production, downstream compounding and most recently recycling of polymers. As someone who has worked across the value chain, he is focussed on ensuring a balanced approach to polymers and that these materials are used in a sustainable fashion to enable viable long term outcomes for both society and the environment.
