Dr. Jens Hamprecht, Vice President BASF SE, coordinates BASF's Global Plastics Steering Committee. In this role, he coordinates the BASF team that develops the company's strategy in the field of plastics recycling. From 2006 to 2017, Dr Hamprecht led a group of doctoral students at ETH Zurich in the field of circular economy. His research in the field of green transformation has been published in the Journal of Management Studies, Business & Society, Organisation & Environment, The Economist and Handelsblatt, among others. He completed his doctorate in sustainability management at the University of St. Gallen in in cooperation with Nestle Corporate Technologies, Vevey. He completed his studies in engineering at ETH Zurich and Imperial College London. He is Managing Director of PRLS, a non-profit organisation that coordinates the collection of plastic waste in Indonesia.
