The Environment Agency plays a crucial role in protecting and improving the environment. Our role includes administering and regulating schemes to incentivise the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from business and industry. We are the Regulator for England for the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) and the administrator of the UK Registry, which records emissions allowances and surrenders. The UK ETS is scheduled to expand to include the monitoring, reporting and verification of emissions from waste incineration and Energy from Waste facilities from 2026 onwards. This duty expands our remit in regulating the waste sector and we are working with the industry to enable a smooth implementation that delivers beneficial environmental outcomes. Come and talk to us to find out more about UK ETS Waste.

Based in Gothenburg, HaloSep is all about turning hazardous fly ash and APCr into something truly valuable through our unique technology. Our HaloSep process? It's a game-changer for Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plants, offering a complete and eco-friendly solution. Forget about burying fly ash and APCr in landfills or leaving them half-done. We're here to show you a better way that's not just good for the planet but also your financial bottom line. And here's the cool part – by filling this missing link in WtE circularity, we're not only helping the environment but also changing public perception of WtE plants and projects.
