Stephen is a highly respected individual within the renewable energy, waste, resources, and environment sector with over 20 years’ experience at a senior level. Stephen started his career in the environment at Cranfield University completing his degree and engineering doctorate. Since completing his studies Stephen has worked within the private sector at a senior level for several waste management companies and global environmental infrastructure consultancies. Stephen is familiar with most waste treatment technologies having been involved either with their design or operation. Stephen has held senior roles in operations, business development, engineering, and general management and has supported projects within the UK and globally. Stephen is currently the Chief Strategic Development Officer for Advetec which provides biotechnology treatment solutions to the waste sector. In 2018 Stephen founded Ceres to provide independent knowledge-based services to developers, investors, and operators in the UK, Ireland, and Europe to support the success of their business whilst reducing the impact on the environment. Stephen is active within the sector to promote its development as a Board member and industrial advisor to the IBioIC, a Director of Cré (The Irish Composting and Anaerobic Digestion Association), and an industrial advisor to Cranfield University. Stephen is also an active member of CIWM and regularly contributes articles and opinion pieces to various publications.
